Video

The exercises in this section refer to DMT Chapter 8, Premiere, but you could use any video editing application with a reasonable range of editing and post-production facilities. Select an example from the pop-up menu, and click on the Go button. To download several video clips you will need to select them one at a time from the pop-up menu.

The material offered for download in this section of the site is copyright. You may not publish any of this material in any form, reproduce it on other web sites or in any other form available to the general public, or pass it off as your own.

We are making this material available in good faith and on the understanding that it will be used only for educational purposes by students and educational institutions. If we discover any breach of this trust we will have to consider withdrawing support material of this kind from this site. It would be foolish to try passing the work off as your own in any case as its presence on this site, in the printed book and elsewhere makes it only too obvious where it has come from.

Most of the video clips are taken from Jenny Chapman's award-winning short video film "3 Minutes Silence", copyright MacAvon Media Productions 2002. If you would like to know more about this work please visit the film's own web page.

The clips provided are mostly relatively poor quality, intended just to show you the movement and effects described in the book. Mostly, they are medium quality, quarter-frame (360x288) MPEG-4 versions of full-frame PAL DV originals at 25fps. These should play back adequately on a reasonably up-to-date machine. If you wished, you could play them out to a PAL TV monitor, but we do not recommed trying playing out to NTSC equipment.
