A selection of audio clips and exercises, illustrating points in Chapter 9, Sound, of Digital Multimedia, and Chapter 8, Premiere, of Digital Media Tools. The exercises can be done with any audio application that can read AIFF files and allows you to examine waveforms and apply effects. There is no suitable cross-platform application. Adobe Audition (formerly CoolEdit) and Sound Forge are popular choices for Windows; Bias Peak is widely used on Macintosh, but there are other professional and shareware alternatives for both platforms.
