Digital Media Tools is an introduction to the major software tools used for creating multimedia. Focusing on multimedia authoring for the Web, it offers basic instruction in the practical preparation of illustrations and still images, video animation and sound. It enables students to learn through doing as well as to understand the basics of design and integration in a multimedia environment. The book is intended as a practical companion text to Digital Multimedia.
The 2nd edition of Digital Media Tools was published in August 2003. As we explain in more detail in the Note to the 2nd edition, it consists of the text of the 1st edition, augmented with supplements for later versions of most of the media tools described in the book.
